The Starting Point

Our client was a US midstream gas company who had recently spun off from a larger multinational company. As they went through this transition, they found themselves needing to build out key technology, systems, and processes across the organization.

As part of the divestiture agreement, our client was able to retain licenses on their original company’s ERP system for up to one year. At 12 months, they had to be fully self sufficient on their own ERP environment or pay a hefty fine for every day they ran over.

After a proper assessment of various technologies, our client chose to move their ERP system to Oracle Cloud. They realized that to achieve a smooth migration, and to meet their hard go live deadline, a strong Change Management operation would need to be in place.

The Journey and the Results

Completing an on-time transition to Oracle Cloud across multiple functional areas and organizational levels was a strategic imperative for our client. 

To ensure our client achieved their desired results, we began with a stakeholder assessment to determine their readiness to change, the best ways to engage their users and mitigate adoption risks, and their various training needs across the organization.

To allow for a speedy and effective implementation, we worked alongside our customer and their technology team throughout the process, designing and delivering the program based on a lean Change Management approach.

Our program included training and communication which took into consideration our client’s dispersed workforce, many of whom were in remote locations without regular access to an office environment. 

We developed eLearning modules, step by step guides and quick guides for the diverse work settings across the organization. We delivered the program in person and followed up with weekly stakeholders’ calls which effectively allowed everyone to participate. 

Our efforts led to an on time go live date, without business interruptions, where users across the distributed organization knew how to operate within the new system from day one.
